[mkiv] Windshield Polishing?

Never tried to polish, but seems I've used vinager to clean it with, greasy film, think grit or sand pitts the glass, seems I've seen something that clained to mend this, but it 
didn't help much, the tiny pitts are cracks or chips in the glass surface that would have to be refused or what ever to make them disapear, me think.

Has anyone tried polishing their windshield?



My '97 windshield looks OK until the sun or approaching headlights hit it
just right; then all the imperfections show up. Think the P.O. must have
driven through some heavy sandstorms.



Just curious if any of these glass polishing kits work well.
