No codes, no worries. I always put my stock DP back on beforehand to be safe. The last time I went the operator came out with a mirror and visually checked for cats but that was the first time I'd ever seen or heard of that in MD. It may be because the station I went to is in an area with a lot of modded imports running around. Good luck with the move! I confirmed through the Florida DMV site that there's no emissions testing required to register a car in Florida. So it looks like I'm home free if we decide to go there (in fact, it might be *the* deciding factor :)). > > How about the DC area? The state inspection to get your tags can be harsh in MD. They don't like tint, larger wheels, lowered cars. But engine mods are not inspected. it's a safety inspection. MD has emissions due every 2 years as previously stated. My Supra was always too low to go over the dyno wheels so I always passed without having cats on. VA on the other hand is like CA !!! NAZI central !!! they have emissions AND they are real picky on the streets with loud / fart can exhausts. It just has to LOOK loud and you get a ticket. Avoid Fairfax county and surrounding areas. DC is hell on your car !!! Streets are potholed everywhere !! I'd go live in Montgomery, Howard, Anne Arundel or Hartford county in MD. IMHO. Have spent many months there over the years (spend 20 years in the AF and you end up getting to TX quite often!). Even bought a pair of cowboy boots once! (If you ain't wearing cowboy boots, you ain't xxxx! Does make it hard to heel and toe, though.) Thanks for all the info, guys. Since I own a place in FL, looks like I can just register the car there and forget about it.
