Thanks for the new Barry. Please keep us updated on how they perform. I am running the S-03's on my car and the MX looks identical to them. The tread pattern's look like an exact duplicate of each other, not to mention the treadwear is the same. If these are a little cheaper, but perform similarly I want to try them next time I need tires.

It may be a month before I get front ones since I have a totally new suspension coming in about a week. I have the crappy 712 Kuhmo Ecstas on the front. Anyway, if looks count for anything the MX tires looks very aggressive and capable. Looks much better than the tire rack pic when I received my 275/40/17s. Big ass blocks of tread, very stiff sidewall and as the tire guy said before his put these PITA tires on, "damn they look sticky". They have a 220 treadwear (712s are 280) and are Y speed rated. Kuhmo claims a "similar" construction method to that of the KDs. I really will not be able to tell definitively until I do a Solo 2 or DE as to just how much stick they have and how progressive they are at the limit. What I have noticed so far is they seem to throw more shit up off the road (maybe more sticky, they should be), the "hunt" or "squirm" that the 712s had in the rear on stock rims is gone (good sign of stiff sidewalls). I could swear they are not as noisy maybe because the tread blocks are so big that there are not nearly as many tread block ediges that hit the surface to make noise. So far so good especially for about $155 bucks a tire. I love force balancing tire machines. My tire weights are so tiny and the ride is so smooth. At 220 treadware don't expect big mileage out of them. The bonus is they look "bad ass". I am encouraged so far.Barry H.
